In many real-world applications, nature-inspired search algorithms have been used to solve numerical optimization problems. This paper introduces a new and efficient algorithm, called the Wild Goose Algorithm (WGA), which is designed for large-scale global optimization. Inspired by the natural behavior of wild geese, this algorithm simulates the processes of group migration, gradual evolution, and survival dynamics. To evaluate the performance of WGA, experiments are conducted on a set of high-dimensional (100, 500, and 1000 variables) IEEE CEC 2008 and CEC 2010 benchmark functions. The results show that this algorithm has a high ability to find the best possible solutions to complex optimization problems and outperforms many other popular algorithms. The key features of WGA include simplicity in implementation, high efficiency, and the ability to solve complex problems with low computational cost. Comparisons with other optimization methods show that this algorithm can provide a powerful and competitive solution for solving large and complex problems. Also, the source code of this algorithm is freely available on GitHub and is available to those interested. This study shows that WGA can be used for a variety of applications such as engineering systems optimization, scheduling, routing in complex networks, and other large-scale decision-making problems.
